THIS BELIEF HAS CHANGED MY LIFE AND IGNITES THE ETERNITY
Earlier in my Christian walk, my beliefs about who I was were constructed under the belief that my whole mission was to work for God in order to be pleasing to Him and to see His Kingdom come. Although this “appeared noble,” it was about what I could do for God, rather than what He had already done for me.
This core value created anxiety within me because I never thought I was good enough and I compared myself to other believer’s lives which appeared to be perfect. Every night, I thought about what I had done wrong or how selfish I had been that day. I lived in an encasement of shame—even though I LOVED God and I had given my life to Him.
Yet, in 2002, another belief began to take shape within me. This was the belief that God wanted a partnership with me and wasn’t just concerned about what I DID but WHO I was with Him.
He wanted to affirm my position as His child. He desired to co-create WITH ME because I already WAS valuable and was in the family of God. I didn’t need approval to feel valuable because I already WAS approved through Jesus’ sacrifice. He had paid for me to BE His child—not to try to attain to a state of being good enough to prove my worth.
This was a huge revelation to me, which has led to books and courses I have written, as well as speaking around the world.
Manifestation of This Belief
It’s amazing how one belief if watered and cultivated can shape your destiny.
As I deepened my understanding of adoption and being an heir and studied scripture based on this, my beliefs began to change the way I thought about myself and God.
I began to sense and value God’s delight in me through encounters with Him. This led me to further understand that God wants sons and daughters who aren’t silent partners, but are involved in bringing heaven to earth through what they create as they abide with God.
In other words, He CARES about what I think and who I am—just like God when God listened to Abraham’s desire to save righteous people in Sodom and Gomorra because his nephew Lot was there. He was moved by Abraham’s compassion. We can also have a close relationship with God like that.
I began to also understand that co-creating with God is an act of risk and faith that releases the supernatural hand of God. In other words, when I paint or create from my ability alone, it’s from natural revelation that I’ve cultivate. Yet, when I abide with Christ as I create, I release life from a different dimension. This means that God’s Presence and leading within me has the power to supernaturally release healing and prophetic understanding BECAUSE I AM IN DIVINE PARTNERSHIP.
I believe this is how miracles flowed through the disciples and the apostle Paul because they were leaning into God’s presence. How could’ve the prison doors fly open when Paul and Silas were singing praises in their prison cell unless there was a supernatural power THROUGH their act of praise and song when there was NO HOPE of being delivered (Acts 16)?
I, myself, have seen miracles released through divine partnership for the last 24 years. For instance, I was speaking in Hood River, Oregon two weekends ago, where people’s backs, hips, knees, headaches, and pain was healed through others, including myself, releasing words of knowledge through art, dance, and prophetic acts. Co-creating with God releases the miraculous hand of God.
How does this work? We create what we see from partnership with God and then take risks give it out and then God’s part is to finish this work and release the healing power because we are in agreement with God’s will to heal the sick in James 5 and Matthew 28.
It is in divine partnership that we have been created for because we joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). .
Remember, you are born to co-create with God and BE His delight!
