Why Prophesying is Your Birthright
Have you ever wondered why Joel 2:28 says that in the last days God will pour out His Spirit on His sons and daughters and they will prophesy?
Why is this so important?
The Holy Spirit came as tongues of fire to IGNITE the apostles to prophesy, preach, and release the supernatural. He wants to do the same in us!
As we ponder this verse in Joel, we have to realize that this in an invitation for us to hunger after releasing the prophetic because it’s tied to God’s pivotal direction for what will awaken revival in our day. The verses go on: "Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days."
So, prophesying isn’t just an office gift, like we hear about in Ephesians 4, but it’s a culture and a gift that can be encouraged, grown, and can benefit many—if it’s ignited. That is the key... who has the match? Paul encouraged Timothy to stir up the gifts within him and I want to encourage you to stir up the gifts with the Holy Spirit so you can burn.
Hunger to Know God's Heart
I remember the first time I received a prophetic word in 2002 that I would lead a Creative Movement that would go around the world. This one word has been pivotal through prayers, God’s direction, and favor to open up a creative prophetic movement that is moving across the land. It lit a fire in me that has not gone out and has started many fires in other’s lives.
I want you to know God’s heart like that and to see how we can release a prophetic movement that will sweep into every home, breaking off disease, brokenness, and fear from the enemy. It’s TIME!
The more we prophesy life—the more the enemy flees (Isaiah 33:3).
Remember, you are born to prophesy so let’s get the fires lit!
