Our Daddy’s DNA

Fathers - who are they?

Father’s Day is this Sunday and as we honor our earthly or spiritual fathers, I wanted to have a conversation with you about who Fathers are to us.

Many of us, like me, didn’t have a close relationship with our father, so it can be a sad time when Father’s Day comes around because we feel we missed something - that may be you.

Others may have a great time this Sunday, honoring your Dads or maybe your Father is no longer alive - so you grieve that loss.

My goal this week is for us to recenter our emotional heart on the essence of our Father in heaven who is our eternal Father. He has adopted us into His family and He has chosen to love and accept us as we truly are (Romans 8).

He is the one who created us in our mother’s womb and He is the one who created the world for us to rule and to enjoy.

He has every day planned out for us and wants to know and father our dreams. There is no need - great or small - that He is not concerned about.

For me, Father’s Day is about the Father of us all- and who He is to each and everyone of us.

So, when I think of Sunday, like every day, I am rich in my Father’s love and abundance and even though I may have had past relational disconnection with my earthly dad, the Father of all heals my heart with His Presence- and the best part- His love is overflowing every day!

There is a great song I want to encourage you to listen to by Brandon Lake called “Daddy’s DNA.”

Let’s create with Daddy’s DNA in us!
