The Door of Hope

What would life be like if Jesus hadn’t come in POWER?

I remember going to Tepic, Mexico to minister with my husband Kevin and a large team of Bethel students. We went to this Indian village where they had never heard the gospel and we brought medical missions, prophetic arts, musicians, face painting, and balloon animals for the children, and interpreters with us.

As we started ministry, people came from near and far to receive joy and freedom and the atmosphere that was lifeless teamed with villagers hearing about Jesus for the first time. One man came hobbling up who needed pain medication who could barely walk. We had a team of people who prayed for the sick BEFORE they saw the doctor.

This man received prayer and was completely healed and was directed to the prophetic art station, where he received prophecy and then gave his life to Jesus. He came up to me and asked if he could get those black books everyone had (Bible) and if he could get one in his language.

We asked him, "Why?" He told us that he was the witch doctor and that the spirits he had been with just hurt him, while the spirit of Jesus had just healed him and he wanted to tell all of his whole village about the power that heals the sick, draws pictures, and sets him free so that he could tell his people.

Not only did we give him a Bible, but we gave him a hundred Bibles in his language.

A year later we went back and we drove past the village where we had been last year and we asked why we weren’t stopping. They said because everyone there have already been converted because the witch doctor has led them to Christ and they had been trained to do signs and wonders and miracles – just as they had seen from us.

Be The Door of Hope

This story happened because Kevin and I believe in signs and wonders and that we are called into a life of miracles. Not only does Jesus heal us physically, but emotionally as well. One of my artists was painting at Bethel on a Sunday night, and we had a word of knowledge that God was healing mental illness. We asked people to look at the painting they had done and this man who had been suicidal and was on heavy prescription drugs, looked at the painting and he was instantaneously delivered.

This man went on to attend all three years of Bethel’s Ministry School and is now a prophetic artist himself. I have seen thousands of people healed through my Create To Be Free Art in Healing courses as well. People are healed of deep wounds, abandonment issues, fear of the future, unforgiveness, and trauma, as they paint through their pain and encounter God’s love.

You may think that I am talking about someone else BEING the door of hope, but I am inviting you to BE the door of hope for someone else.

Jesus qualifies us to heal the sick and to deliver people in Mathew 10:8 and He doesn’t say when YOU think you’re ready, He commands ALL of us to do this—now.

Remember, you are born to see signs and wonders!
