What Holds You Back From Fulfilling Your Calling?
Friends, we all have been given a spark – a calling like Philippians 1:6 states: Being confident of this, that He who began a good work will carry it out to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (NIV).
It’s clearly NOT God—As we can see from the above scripture, God wants to help us discover and actualize our calling. After all, HE is the one who gave it to us. This means that God is not holding us back from fulfilling our calling - in fact.
What does "being confident" mean in Philippians 1:6?
If we are not confident that God is FOR US and that He is working everything out for GOOD (Romans 8), then we can let doubt derail us from our calling and dreams.
It is very clear in so many scriptures that our response in being confident is spelled out: RISK and FAITH.
This means heaven MOVES on our behalf as we AGREE with God’s power and calling. This means the more we ACTIVATE—FACE OUR FEARS, limiting mindsets, procrastination, poverty mindset, the more God IS able to move on our behalf because we are in agreement.
Then why do so many of us STILL partner with fear?
Where Does Fear Come From?
Last time I checked, the enemy is a liar. He lied to Adam and Eve and got them to disobey God in Genesis. He lied to the 10 spies who brought back a bad report in Numbers 13-15, which caused the children of Israel to walk in the wilderness for 40 years (not a good track record for us to follow).
He has lied to me about who I am as an artist, writer, and speaker. In fact, if I listen, he will tell me I’m not good at whatever I desire to create or do in life.
Sound familiar?
Come on, we’ve all heard the inner voice of the liar, who wants us to doubt that we are God’s child and have a right to our inheritance. He whispers in our thoughts and acts like it’s us by planting lies in our head like, “I am not capable, not talented enough, not blessed, honored.” He tells us we are alone and that we should quit believing.
If I open up his emails from hell and read them, I am making myself more susceptible to his influence.
We all have to learn to press the delete button and not receive a subscription to his YouTube channel playing 24/7, that we have to be like everyone else and that we won’t make it if we go after our creative dreams and calling.
We have to press delete and then open up the RIGHT EMAILS and get the right subscription for “You are more than able through Jesus” and “You are the head and not the tail” and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Doesn’t that sound like the RIGHT plan?
