Things We Might Have Missed Along the Way…

I wanted to share about biblical truths that we may have missed as well in our journey in knowing God. These truths center on God’s creative nature that you may not have discovered as you have read the God’s love letter to us.

So, let’s dig in to biblical accounts and discover buried treasure that many of us could’ve missed.

Did you know that???

  • Law of First Mention:  Whenever we introduce ourselves to others we don’t know, we usually talk about the most important roles or what we have done in our lives- like accomplishments.

In Genesis 1:1, God introduces Himself as the Creator and then speaks and creates life in all of its forms, including us.  He then says that we are made in His Image (Genesis 1:27), so that we have the SAME DNA/NATURE as God.

So, biblically speaking, you are creative.  If you have had an original thought- YOU are creative.  It may manifest in each person differently, but if we don’t value or accept how we are made, we will live in denial of how God made us- CREATIVE.

So, let me ask you a question, in regard to this- do you SAY or THINK you are not creative in certain ways because you have compared yourself to others or others have labeled you as non-creative?

If so, this is not the voice of God, but of fear, our enemy trying to keep you from creating in a way that you were made to be.

Take back your rightful inheritance, take risks, and create because your nature is to do this.

  • Craftsmen were the first ones filled with the Holy Spirit: In Exodus 31, it says that Bezalel was full of the Holy Spirit to create in all different kinds of way. The Holy Spirit had also anointed Oholiab, so that they would create the tabernacle, which is where God dwelt with the Israelites in the Old Testament. It was God’s holy dwelling place.

The New Testament takes this even further. In I Corinthians 6:19, it says that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, which means that we have the privilege, like Bezalel to reflect and creatively display God’s nature for all to see. We have the Holy Spirit now available to anoint us to creatively display His goodness and nature.

I can’t tell you how many people who have read my book “Born to Create” are now being filled with the Holy Spirit and are seeing their creative endeavors release healing and prophetic ministry.  Just read the book if you haven’t and get inspired this summer as to what’s possible for us as believers.

  • Creative Miracles Are A Manifestation of God working Through Us

Take a moment and look at how God’s chosen people supernaturally created to release God’s Presence upon the earth.

Moses: His creation of a Bronze serpent healed those who were dying of snake bites when they looked at it (Numbers 21).

David:  His music delivered King Saul of a demon (I Sam. 16).

Jesus: His creative writing in the sand set the woman caught in adultery free (John 8:6-8).

Paul: When he and Silas sang at midnight, the prison doors opened (Acts 16).

I have witnessed people receive instantaneous healing as they looked at a painting, were danced over, or were sang over because we are called to create with God and find out how HE wants us to partner with what we create to see breakthrough for others.

    This is your inheritance.

  • Jesus was Born into a Craftsman’s Family

Throughout Jesus’ early years, he was learning to create with his father Joseph, who was a carpenter by trade.  This is very significant because it showcases to us what was important to the Father in raising up His Son on the earth. His heavenly Father and earthly Father were training Him for creating a picture of the Father, which meant that he was daily creating in his earthly Father’s workshop.

Like Jesus, I grew up in a creative home, where my Mom was an artist, wrote plays,  and our whole family led worship in church. Even though I had this background, I never valued this because I thought that preaching through words from a stage was the highest calling for me.

  • My Journey of Awakening Creativity Within Me

Then, in 2002, God gave me a vision, where I saw Pastor Bill Johnson preaching while I was painting in the back of Bethel’s sanctuary.  All of a sudden all of the paints and art went flying in the air and I could hear myself saying in fear, “I can’t take away from the man of God.”  This happened before painting in worship was apart of my life.  Those visions are so KEY as to where we are headed in life.

I hadn’t yet understood my personal history, like I didn’t quite “get” all of my husband’s personal history, which I talked about earlier.

If we are to understand God, we must understand who He is and who we are in light of His creative nature.

I want to invite you to discover the Creator’s paintbrush as He creates vivid colors

In the sky and how He has marked you to discover your creative inklings or passions because you are made in His image.

So, as you celebrate birthdays, go on vacations, and read the Bible this summer, look for nuggets God has dropped right before you that are ways the Creator is speaking to us and through us.

Remember, you are born to create!
