What Beliefs Are You Cultivating in Your Life?
Many of us have walked through personal and physical pain and our stories are founded on the cross of Christ. I am sure we all remember the day Jesus became Lord of our lives.
Jesus came to end death, identity theft, separation, and fear’s strangle hold on our destiny as a child of God. His desire is that we walk in freedom through bringing His Powerful Presence into every environment and situation we face or will face.
Yet, many times when we face opposition, we don’t know “how” to stand upon these truths because we listen to disappointment rather than to faith.
We need to understand that we are in a war and we need to know how to cultivate truth that does not waiver in the face of doubt.
How do we cultivate faith when we are in a pit?
Many of us need to hold on and not give up because God’s timing has not yet released God’s prophetic promises to us. We also may be listening to what the culture says is success and settle for less than God’s best and divine purposes in our life.
The Apostle Paul warns us in Ephesians about this attack and that we are to put on the full armor of God, which means every day we need to cultivate who we are and not listen to the temptations of the enemy.
Today, I want to help you silence the enemy’s voice that comes in to steal, rob, and destroy and for us to feast on the abundance Jesus promised in John 10:10. It’s your time to grab ahold of faith, which is not seen, but is more REAL and ETERNAL than the ground we are standing on.
Here’s what has helped me to cultivate truth: Knowing WHO the Father truly is!
Embracing Father God's Love
One of the ways we can defeat the enemy is by acknowledging where he planted fear or lack in our lives. For me, I grew up in a family system, where my Father, who tried to commit suicide and had a nervous breakdown before I was born, was a workaholic and lived in a depressive state while I was growing up. As children, in this family system, we feared him and tried to get as far away as possible from him just to survive.
My Father never thought he was worthy of love and constantly strove to try and make up for his shortcomings through trying to please God, yet what he did was never enough in his estimation.
Many of us have had a similar issue with those who were suppose to take care of us when we were young. As a young teenager, I was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to identify my worth with the fruit of living for Jesus, which then manifested in my family’s calling to lead the Charismatic movement within my city and region.
When this happened, Jesus and the Holy Spirit became so tangible and real to me, but I had a hard time relating to God the Father because of my relationship with my earthly Father. It wasn’t until I came to Bethel church in 2002 and began allowing the Holy Spirit to connect me with who Father God truly is and who I am to Him that I began to understand that I have an eternal Father in heaven who created me from love to be loved.
What my earthly father couldn’t give me, my Father in Heaven supplied in abundance.
The first step toward cultivating Truth is having a vital life-giving relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, so that we are connected to our heavenly Family. This way there is no stronghold of insecurity or rejection from our past that can cut off the Father’s blessing in our lives.
There is No Lack for Father God's Children
Another truth that changed my life is that there is no lack in heaven. Ephesians 2 says that we are seated NOW in heavenly realms. So, all my “lack training” when I was growing up had to be evaluated by what scripture says we have in Christ.
2 Corinthians 9: 8-11 TPT says, “Yes God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have MORE THAN ENOUGH OF EVERYTHING—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”
Wow, let’s just take that in for a minute. There is no lack in our relationships, in our finances, in our schedule, and in ourselves because He has given us more than enough!
I am convinced that if we look towards culture, our past, our earthly parents, our season in life and judge ourselves as deficient—we need to repent and realize that God has given us more than enough.
Cultivate and Create His Truth and let’s see the waters part for you to walk through!
